House District #108 Receives Grants

Representative Vida Miller announces the approval of two Competitive Grant Applications she sponsored, submitted to the Budget and Control Board for House District #108, each in the amount of $100,000.00.

The first grant was awarded to the Georgetown Rice Museum for the restoration of the historic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower is one of the oldest structures in the City and is recognized landmark. Funds will be used to restore this historic landmark to its original condition.

The second grant for $100,000.00 was awarded to the Parkersville Multigenerational Complex at Pawleys Island. Miller has been actively seeking grant funding for this project and was awarded $350,000.00 earlier this year by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office on Aging. The project, approved by the county, includes a community center along with facilities for senior citizens and youth programs.
