About Vida Miller

Vida O. Miller, a Pawleys Island gallery owner in her fifth term in the South Carolina House of Representatives, says it's important for elected representatives to have experience and know the legislative process to help people. There are four members of the Georgetown County Legislative Delegation; two are in their first terms as freshmen.

"Sending another "freshman" to Columbia is not in the best interest of our district as there are many projects pending that we simply cannot afford to lose because of inexperience," says Miller, who is married to J.D. Miller. "My record is proof of my ability to 'get things done' and I will continue use my seniority and knowledge to fight for the citizens of District 108 and our area."

House District 108 includes the eastern portion of Georgetown County and parts of northern Charleston County including McClellanville and Awendaw.

Lived in area for more than 25 years

Miller, who lives in Pawleys Island and operates Gray Man Gallery, first was elected to the S.C. House in 1996. She has been re-elected ever since. Prior to public service that takes her to Columbia during the first half of each year, Miller served on the Georgetown County School Board from 1988 to 1994.

A South Carolina native, Miller attended North Greenville College and Bob Jones University. She's lived in the Pawleys Island area for nearly 30 years.

Vida also has been active in community affairs and a leader in the S.C. House.
